I may be showing my age here, but I.LOVED Are You Afraid Of The Dark? when I was younger! Maybe it was just scary enough to get my heart pumping, or I know it ended ok so I wouldn’t have nightmares or even just because it was fun. Something about it! When I heard the newly revamped version was coming out on DVD, I silently hoped my kiddos would be as excited!
Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark?, a three-part reboot of the hit ‘90s series was 2019’s number-one co-viewed show across all TV and each of the three installments won their time slot, ranking as the number-one live-action series on basic cable with Kids 2-11, 6-11 and tweens 9-14.

And I am happy to report… the kids loved this as much as I did as a child! They even liked the “old versions”. I was at first concerned with my 4 1/2 year old watching it, but she enjoyed it just as much as the older two. There are definitely a couple of moments where you jump, but she laughed shortly after because of the absurdity and fun of the whole show overall. That being said, I don’t see her wanting to attend anything called a Carnival of Doom anytime soon 😉
