Family game nights are some of my favorites in our house. We love making snacks and pouring into a great board game, cards or strategy game. As a family of five, sometimes it’s difficult to find the right game to suit us all. With kids that are 11, 9 and 5 not all games are created equal. The ones we have found that do work, are ones with an educational component. The older kids kick in competition high gear and the five year old and I focus on colors, words and memory aspects. So many of the Bananagrams family of games fits us all to a T.
Perfect for the pre-reader and early learner, My First BANANAGRAMS utilizes lowercase letters that help children grow a love for word games and wordplay, and aligns perfectly with reading curriculums.
Also included are combo-letter word building tiles, which are the first step in word creation. With multiple mini games, My First BANANAGRAMS creates a step-by-step play-progression towards ultimately learning how to play a full game of BANANAGRAMS.
One I am most excited about is Smart 10, a quiz game that has 10 possible answers, so everyone can guess! The older kids will definitely try to earn as many points as possible and the rest of us will have fun making up answers.
SMART 10 is the portable quiz game where every card has a question with ten possible answers, so every player gets a chance to show off their smarts! Players take turns guessing answers and passing to the next player. Right answers gain a point, but players beware, incorrect answers lose everything earned that round. Play smartly, as pass or play decisions can make or break the game! The first player or team to reach 30 points wins!
Addictively simple, and simply addictive, BANANAGRAMS is the fast and frantic word game enjoyed by millions! Players and their opponents aim to use all of their letters to build a word grid in a race to the finish. The first player to use all of their tiles is crowned “Top Banana”!
BANANAGRAMS requires no pencil, paper, or board, and comes in a small portable banana-shaped pouch that’s perfect for ages 7 and up —at home or on the go.
There are just so many great family games that everyone can enjoy together. I also recommend you checking out Cobra Paw, the ninja-like, tile-snatching challenge. The Zombie kids have also already added Cheeky Butts, a high-speed game of find and match, to the next game shopping list. Check out all the options on the Bananagrams site, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
